
Awareness is where healing begins…
but feeling is what allows it to move.
When something felt overwhelming, unsafe, or too much for your system to process, your body moved into survival, not because something was wrong, but because it was protecting you in that moment.
It did exactly what it needed to do to keep you safe.
It adapted.
It responded.
It held what you couldn’t process at the time.
And even though the moment has passed…
your body may still be holding onto that response.
Your body is still bracing, tensing,
Holding in the shoulders
Tightening through the chest
Clenching in the jaw
Restricting the breath
A quiet readiness in the body…
As if it needs to stay alert
Just in case.
Because beneath the tension…
beneath the holding…
there is something waiting to move.
A breath that wants to deepen
A feeling that wants to rise
A release that hasn’t yet had the space.
Your body may not have received
the signalthat it’s safe to soften.
To feel…
what it didn’t get to feel before.
And as you do…
The shoulders begin to drop
The jaw softens
The breath returns
And what has been held…
begins to gently release.

When you allow your body to relax and soften…
you are not “doing nothing.”
You are giving your body a signal it may not have received in a long time:
“It’s safe now.”
And when the body begins to feel safe…
The nervous system starts to regulate
The breath deepens
The muscles begin to release
The constant tension starts to unwind
Emotion may begin to rise.
Not because something is wrong…
but because something is finally
being allowed to move.
Because what has been held in the body
has been waiting for the moment
it is safe enough to let go.
